Pipe Repair &
Replacement

Are your pipes groaning? Has the water pressure in your house weekend? Have a leak on your property but can't find the source? All of these are signs that it may be time to have your pipes checked. Pipes help keep your plumbing system running smoothly but if signs of damage are left unchecked, it can cost a lot to repair down the line.

If you are having issues with your pipes but are unsure of what or where the problem is located, give LH&H a call! Our team is licensed and can install, repair or replace your pipes. This includes entire water and sewer lines! Whatever issues you're facing with your pipes, we can help.

Pipe Material

Knowing the material of your pipes can help with maintenance and upkeep. Some of the more common pipe materials are:
  • Steel - strong but can suffer from corrosion and the accumulation of mineral deposits. Build up within the pipes will eventually block the free flow. Work performed on older steel pipe systems can be challenging, as threaded unions can deteriorate.
  • Copper - sturdy and reliable but if paired with well water, high acidic levels are possible. These pipes can also pit and begin to leach into your water supply and the tubing may develop pinholes. Blue-green stains around the copper pipe fittings are a sign of high acidity.
  • PVC - (polyvinyl chloride) is easy to use but are bulky. They are light weight and can be cracked easier than other pipes.
  • PEX - (crosslinked polyethylene) is a more cost-effective option that is treated to retain its shape without breaking in extreme temperatures. This material is best for interior uses as it can become contaminated underground.
